Job Summary (Purpose of Position)
The Application/System Engineer is responsible for the detailed system-level design, configuration, and integration of DAS solutions.
The role ensures that all active, passive and hybrid DAS components are engineered, configured, and integrated to meet technical specification,
MNO’s requirements and operational performance standards.
This position serves as the technical authority on DAS platforms, bridging RF design, vendor technologies and operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities
System Design and Engineering
- Develop system-level designs for active, passive, and hybrid DAS solutions.
- Translate RF design outputs into detailed system architectures.
- Define headend configurations, remote unit layouts, and transport topology.
- Ensure compatibility with MNO interfacing requirements.
Configuration and Integration
- Configure DAS headend equipment, remote units, and management systems.
- Support system integration with MNO networks and NMS platforms.
- Coordinate software, firmware, and feature configurations.
- Validate system functionality prior to commissioning.
Vendor and Technology Management
- Act as technical focal point for DAS vendors and OEMs.
- Review vendor technical proposals and compliance with specifications.
- Support technical evaluations, PoCs, and solution comparisons.
- Coordinate technical escalations to vendors when required.
Commissioning and Acceptance Support
- Support commissioning, integration, and acceptance testing activities.
- Assist in troubleshooting system-level issues during testing.
- Ensure all system parameters meet MNO acceptance criteria.
- Support handover from implementation to O&M teams.
Documentation and Knowledge Management
- Prepare and maintain HLD, LLD, and system configuration documents.
- Develop standard engineering templates and guidelines.
- Maintain system as-built documentation.
- Support knowledge transfer to O&M and Technical Support teams.
Authority / Decision-Making / Delegation of Authority
- Authority to define system configurations within approved designs.
- Recommends technical solutions and integration approaches.
